From Investigative Post: ICE & Immigration in WNY, a panel and presentation on Wednesday, November 5th, 7pm, Unitarian Universalist Church, 695 Elmwood Ave. Featuring a panel of speakers who work daily with immigrants and refugees, followed by a question-and-answer session. Beginning with a presentation by reporter J. Dale Shoemaker on ICE raids, arrests and detentions of migrants in the region and the detention center in Batavia.
Reconnecter is a new space for social connection in Buffalo and beyond, bringing people together in person and online by illuminating the ties that bind us.
In person, Reconnecter presents various communal vibes such as the Buffalodown variety show, the musical journey of Gallivanting, a free and inclusive festival on summer Sundays in the heart of the city and much more.
Online, Reconnecter.org will feature personal stories that inspire collective action as well as an inclusive community events calendar, all supplemented by periodic podcasts and a weekly mass email.
Formed by social connecter Seamus Gallivan with a team of activists, artists, and content creators, Reconnecter seeks to expand our understanding of social connection – everyone needs to be seen, loved and valued, and wherever these needs are unmet lies the seeds of social unrest – serving as a guiding light on the quest for beloved community.
